Hello my lovelies

Winter on the Costa Del Sol might be mild compared to other places, but the air still changes this time of year. The breeze gets cooler, the heaters go on, and before we know it, our hair starts to feel a little drier than usual. It’s what I like to call the Dry Air Dilemma.

If your hair feels rough, static, or just not its usual silky self, don’t worry, a few simple changes can bring back softness and shine.

Why Does Winter Make Hair Dry?

Even in sunny Spain, winter air holds less moisture. Combine that with indoor heating and your hair loses hydration faster than you can say “where’s my conditioner?” The result is dullness, frizz, and ends that feel a little tired.

Moisture Is Everything

The key to happy winter hair is moisture. Use a hydrating shampoo and conditioner that nourish your strands without weighing them down. Once or twice a week, treat yourself to a rich mask. Leave it on for ten to fifteen minutes while you relax with a cup of tea, it’s like a mini spa session for your hair.

Don’t Skip the Serum

A few drops of serum or light oil can make a big difference. It helps to seal the ends and prevent your hair from drying out in the wind. Focus on the mid lengths and ends, and you’ll notice your hair stays smoother for longer.

Turn Down the Heat

I know we all love our styling tools, but straighteners and curling wands can add to the dryness. If you can, let your hair air dry now and then, or at least use the cool setting on your dryer. And never skip your heat protector spray, it’s a must.

Professional Help at Home

Sometimes your hair just needs a little extra love. I can bring professional moisture treatments right to your door with my mobile hairdressing in La Cala de Mijas. These treatments deeply hydrate, strengthen, and restore shine, leaving your hair feeling silky again.

My Winter Care Tip

Try not to over wash your hair during this season. Every two to three days is plenty for most hair types, and it helps your natural oils do their job. Between washes, a light dry shampoo can keep everything feeling fresh.

Your hair deserves the same care you give your skin when the air turns dry. A few little changes make a big difference, and before you know it, your hair will feel soft, strong, and full of life again.
