Top Tips for Holiday Hair Survival

Hi everyone, it’s Katie here from Katie Snowden Hair, your mobile stylist for hair extensions in Mijas and all across the Costa del Sol.

The festive season is here, the lights are twinkling, the diaries are filling up, and your hair is about to face its busiest month of the year. Between the parties, the styling, and the occasional glass (or two) of bubbly, it’s easy for your hair to lose its shine. But don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. Here are my top tips to keep your hair looking gorgeous all season long, no matter how many events you have lined up.

1. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate The combination of cooler air outside and indoor heating can make your hair feel dry and static. Make sure you use a rich conditioner and a weekly mask to keep everything smooth and manageable. I also love finishing with a few drops of lightweight oil through the ends to keep that healthy glow.

2. Be gentle with your extensions If you’re wearing extensions this festive season, treat them with extra care. Brush gently before bed, sleep with your hair in a loose plait, and avoid too much heat styling. A little love and care will keep them looking full and fabulous all through the holidays.

3. Don’t overdo the styling It’s tempting to curl, straighten, and restyle every day when the social calendar is busy, but your hair will thank you for an occasional break. Try a soft updo, a textured ponytail, or a sleek low bun on your days off. They look elegant and protect your hair from unnecessary heat.

4. Keep your colour fresh The festive lights have a funny way of showing every shade of our colour, good or bad. A quick toner, gloss, or refresh before your first party can make your hair shine like never before. And if you’re planning a complete colour update, book in early as this is the busiest time of year for appointments.

5. Don’t forget the basics It sounds simple, but clean brushes, a silk pillowcase, and regular trims make all the difference. It’s often the little things that keep your hair looking its best through the chaos of December.

The most important tip of all Enjoy yourself. Your hair should make you feel confident and happy, not stressed. Whether you’re going glam with fresh extensions or rocking your natural waves, own it. And if you need a little help along the way, I’m always here to bring salon quality styling straight to your home in La Cala de Mijas.

This post is part of my November series, helping you prepare your hair for every celebration on the Costa del Sol. Next week, I’ll be wrapping up the month with a special post all about Holiday Hair Transformations, the perfect way to finish the year feeling fabulous.

Until then, take care of your hair, keep smiling, and let the festivities begin.

Love, Katie www.katie.es
